Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association is founded on a simple premise: Our purpose is to bring together graduates of the Harris County Precinct 4 Citizens Police Academy, together with alumni, to enhance the relations between the community and the Constable's deputies and to assist all law enforcement agencies in Precinct 4 of Harris County, Texas. Also, to share the views of the Precinct 4 Constable's Office with other citizens to improve the efficiency of law enforcement in their neighborhoods through shared responsibilities and resources.
The Harris County Pct. 4 Constables office Citizens Police Academy (CPA) is a 10-week course, provided for the citizens of Harris County to help them better understand the process of law enforcement and to learn more about the men and women behind the badge. Our CPA courses offer topics such as Penal Code, Telecommunications, Canine Operations, Special Investigations such as Domestic Violence and Regulatory Enforcement, High Tech Crime Investigations and Patrol Procedures. One of the many highlights of the course is going to the firing range and firing live rounds at targets or scenario night, during which students are provided the opportunity to act as deputies during mock traffic stops and disturbance calls via our Firearms Training simulator. You may also get to experience a ride-along with one of our experienced Deputies. Supervisors and officers from throughout the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office, share their knowledge and expertise with those attending our course.
One of the many benefits of the CPA class is that it allows citizens to meet and interact with deputies in a positive setting, where each can get to know the other and share information. Our goal is to provide positive interaction where our attendees and officers can learn from one another. This type of setting allows the citizen to get to know the person(s) behind the badge and to learn more about the job they perform. You may also get to meet the Constable or some of his administrative staff.
Another benefit of the CPA class is that it allows the information or generation gap between the community and the Harris County Pct. 4 Constables Office to be bridged. The CPA class produces informed citizens, who better understand some of the how and whys of law enforcement. This improved understanding of law enforcement and new relationships built with our deputies often translates into a partnership in which both parties desire to work towards safer communities.
This partnership is fulfilled by becoming a member of the HCCO4 Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (HCCO4-CPAAA). The HCCO4-CPAAA is a 501(c)3 organization that works hand-in-hand with the Harris County Pct. 4 Constables Office.
Residents of our community are encouraged to join by enrolling in Precinct 4's Citizens Police Academy. You must be at least 18 and have no felonies. Background checks will be performed. The class is 10 weeks. Click HERE to fill out the online application. You will receive an email with registration confirmation and class schedule for the next class.
We welcome guest speakers from the community!
